Wow! where do I start? Simpatico; meaning...likable and easy to get along with. having or characterized by shared attributes or interests; compatible. This wonderful little salon, right next to Heidelberg Cafe on PCH, lives up to its name and some much more! Best color, cuts, braiding and up do's you will ever experience! Plus free parking...in Laguna Beach!! I could relate to the Angela C. review. I have long, naturally curly red hair that hadn't seen the inside of a hair salon in WAY too many years! Too many disasters in the hands of egocentric, under educated, lazy stylists which kept me at home coloring my own hair and trimming the split ends. It was a dried up, over processed mess. So, I finally Googled "best red hair colorist is Laguna Beach" and the first site that popped up was Simpatico on Yelp; really good sign! I read the reviews, went with my gut feelings, bit the bullet and made the call right then. (1 of the top 2 best decisions I have ever made in my life...the other was marrying my husband.) The minute I crossed the Simpatico threshold I felt like I was home. Matt and Bailey are 2 of the most real, down to earth, exceptional people I've ever met. Bailey made me feel so comfortable as I sat in her chair and we talked about my rats nest of hair I was confident enough to say "do what ever you think is best for me and my hair...but don't cut it!". Boy, was I in for a surprise! She loves working with red hair and did an amazing combination of colors that created depth and lightness to my dead head like I had never seen. She used their fabulous Furterer product line and blew my hair out straight with a slight curl at the tips. I think me and my hair were actually in shock when she was done!! My hair looked so healthy and vibrant I floated home! To make my experience even more wonderful Matt sat and talked with me while Bailey worked on my hair and we discovered that we knew a few of the same people and it felt like we were old friends that hadn't seen each other in years. It was a very "Simpatico" experience. I was so excited after my first visit I went back the next week and let Bailey cut my hair...VERY BIG decision for me! She cut off my fried ends with precision and I even got bangs! with a beautiful blow out of smooth large curls and waves...ecstatic is an understatement for how I felt. I have been going back to Simpatico every week since, and that was last October. Not just because Bailey is affordable but because it is the highlight of my week. Every week something new! Every week Matt and I talk about vintage cars, another Simpatico thing we have in common, while Bailey works her magic. And so began a very, exciting, magical, close relationship; kinda like the family. When it was time for a pick me up on my hair color Bailey did a process called balayage, a technique for highlighting your hair as if she were painting or sculpting color onto it. It created the most natural, sun kissed look with a depth and a vibrancy I'd only seen in magazines or movies! (you will never do foils again!) This woman is a true artist in every sense of the word!! She is now adding another artistic, unexpected and creative repertoire to my weekly visit...braiding! So many choices, so much fun!!! Just another one of the many talents Bailey has a passion for. Every time I leave Simpatico I feel alive, revived and beyond satisfied. I feel like I found the Ruby Slippers and I ain't in Kansas no mo. Just click my heels 3 times and I'm in the land of the Dynamic Duo at Simpatico. Love you guys!
